How has media technology affected our lives?

Over the past decade or so media technology has influenced our lives but the significant impact has been seen in the last few years. What we can do with media technology is rapidly advancing. At first, these technological changes might have not been so obvious but now it is hard to miss them.

Conveniences that have been granted to us include shopping without leaving the comfort of our home, reading a book without having to make a stop at the bookstore, playing music with a click of a button, and watching whatever we like on computers or tvs. All of these luxuries have been made possible to us through the advancement of media technology and are affecting more and more people every day.

There are both pros and cons to the advances in media technology. For instance, more and more people are spending money on costly media devices, such as laptops, smartphones, tablets and so on. It is also easy to get caught up in media technology and forget the simple things in life such as curling up with a good book. And sometimes it can be hard to even have a meal without a phone or tablet going off, signaling a new message of some sort has been received. On the other hand, media technology has positively affected our lives in so many ways such as GPS tracking for emergency response personnel, having answers to questions at your fingertips, keeping up with worldwide news and sharing of photos with friends and family in different parts of the world.
